Breathe & Believe: FAQ

Breathing is used as a symbol of life and the presence of God. Similarly, believing serves as the foundation of salvation and hope.

In the book of Genesis, the creation story tells us that God breathed life into Adam's nostrils. This act symbolizes the giving of life, signifying that every breath we take is a gift from God, and we should appreciate it. Additionally, in the book of Job 33:4, it is written, "The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life." Here, the breath is attributed to the Almighty God, emphasizing the importance of gratitude and worship.

Do we thank God for the air we breathe in? The air is free yet we take it for granted.

In the New Testament, the teachings of Jesus Christ emphasize the value of breathing and trusting in God. In Matthew 6:25-27, Jesus says, "Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" Here, Jesus encourages his followers to trust in God and not to worry about the future, emphasizing the importance of breathing and relaxing in the present moment.

This leads us to Believing. In the book of John 3:16, it is written, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." This verse is one of the most significant and well-known verses in the Bible, emphasizing the importance of faith and trust in God to receive salvation and eternal life

In the book of Hebrews 11:6 it is written, "And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." This verse emphasizes that faith is the foundation of a Christian's relationship with God and that it is through believing in God's existence, promises, and teachings, that one can please God and receive his blessings.

In conclusion, Breathing is a symbol of life and the presence of God, while believing is the foundation of the Christian faith, and it is through faith that we can receive salvation and eternal life. Therefore, as Christians, we should strive to remember the importance of breathing and trusting in God in every aspect of our lives, as it is through these principles that we can experience God's grace and blessings.
