"I am the Lord your God," "You shall have no other gods before me"
If Jesus should ask you, do you love me more than "these", what are the "these" in your life that he might be referring to?
What would be drawing your love away from him, vying for your attention, or competing for your love???
Is it money, sex, self, cellphone, false gods, whatever or whoever?! Whatever you worship becomes your god.
The 1st and Greatest Commandment sets the tone for the first three Commandments which can be summarized as
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."
